SteadyPaws - Dog Car Seat Waterproof Cover 2.0

SteadyPaws 2.0 fits the back seat of most cars, SUVs, utes and 4WDs. The adjustable headrest straps and seat anchors let it sit securely across a standard rear bench.

It also works in vehicles with a gap between rear seats. The rigid base spans the gap so your dog gets one continuous flat surface rather than two seats and a hole in the middle.

Yes. The rigid base is rated to 100ibs/45kg and is built to stay flat under it. This is the whole reason the hard shell exists.

Soft hammock covers sag in the middle under any real weight, which is what forces a large dog to brace against the slope for the entire drive. A rigid platform does not sag, so a big dog can actually lie down and stay lying down.

Most owners notice a difference within the first drive or two. Anxious dogs in the car are usually reacting to two things: an unstable surface underfoot, and losing sight of their person behind the headrests.

The shell fixes the first. The mesh window fixes the second. The combination is why owners report their dog settling and staying settled instead of pacing, panting and repositioning the whole way.

The top surface is waterproof, so wet fur, muddy paws and accidents stay on the cover instead of soaking through to your upholstery.

For everyday cleaning, wipe it down with a damp cloth. For a deeper clean, lift out the base panels and machine wash the cover on a cold gentle cycle. Skip bleach and fabric softener, both of which break down the waterproof layer. Hang to dry out of direct sun and reinsert the panels once dry.

Around two minutes the first time, and under one after that. Unfold the cover, slot in the base panels, loop the straps over the headrests and tuck the seat anchors into the seat crease. No tools and nothing permanent.

Leave it in full time, or fold it flat and stow it in the boot whenever you need the back seat for passengers.
